Holiday Closing

In order to allow staff to set aside time to spend with friends and family, the Broad will close each year during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. These annual holiday closing days are in addition the vacation days provided; that is, employees do not have to use vacation time for these days.

The exact dates of each year's closing vary with the calendar.

For 2021, Broad will be closed Thursday, December 23 through Sunday, January 2nd reopening on Monday, January 3rd.

2. Vacation Time

All benefits-eligible employees earn vacation time according to their length of service. For vacation purposes, length of service is determined each anniversary date from your date of hire. Employees can borrow up to two (2) weeks vacation in advance with manager approval.

Vacation time is accrued while employees are on paid leave status, including vacation, sick leave, and workers' compensation leave. Vacation generally does not accrue when an employee is on unpaid leave.
