What if I have to work during the holiday closing because of the nature of my research?

Even when we're closed for business, there are essential functions that must be performed. We have special closing pay policies in place to cover employees who are required to report to work at these times. If you are a weekly-paid employee, you will be paid the rate you normally receive for holidays and special closing days, plus time and a half for the actual hours worked.  If you are a biweekly-paid employee, you may arrange with your supervisor to take an equivalent amount of time off (without using vacation days).
