Muslims@Broad is an identity-based affinity group whose mission is to create a welcoming community for Muslims and allies by raising awareness about issues affecting Muslims and advocating for policies that support Muslim Broadies and Broadies in general.
We strive to implement initiatives, programs and provide resources for Muslims and allies at the Broad Institute by focusing on the following areas:
-
Creating connections
Hosting events that foster networking and collaboration between Muslims and allies across the Broad Institute, such as hosting events around Islamic holidays. -
Generating awareness
Providing information to that promote awareness and dialogue between Broadies about Islam and Muslims, such as community lunches, book clubs, or attending local celebrations. -
Advocacy
Collaborating with allies and Institutional leadership for policies, activities, and efforts to create an inclusive environment for Muslims at the Broad, such as providing a space where Muslims can practice their faith onsite. Click here for more information on the prayer space.
