Seramount has recognized the Broad Institute as one of its 100 Best Companies for our ongoing commitment and leadership in the areas of women’s representation and advancement, benefits, parental leave, and paid time off.

Broad was also named a 100 Best Company from 2017-2020 and again in 2022, and we are proud to be one of the few non-profits organizations named on the list once more.

The award goes to institutions that lead the country in gender-inclusive benefits and programs that support working parents. Broad was selected because of our supportive family-friendly benefits, such as paid gender-neutral parental leave and time off*, childcare resources and support*, and for our representation, hiring, and promotion of women. We provide programs and policies to support Broadies so they can thrive in their personal and professional lives and therefore contribute to achieving our scientific mission of impacting human health for the better.

“Broad’s parental benefits have allowed me to seek true work-life balance,” said Colleen Nguyen, manager of Community Engagement for Count Me In. “The doubts I had about whether or not I would be supported within the workplace as a first-time parent quickly dissipated once I learned about and utilized the supports available to me through the Broad. From Bright Horizons back-up care and care specialists to KGA Life Service's on-call life services support to BroadLife parenting workshops, Broad's benefits and resources seem to cover it all, enabling me to be present in my work when life’s curveballs fly my way.”

The 100 Best Companies are featured on Seramount’s website. See the full list of 100 Best Companies.

The 2023 Seramount 100 Best Companies application includes more than 400 questions related to leave policies, workforce representation, benefits, childcare, advancement programs, flexibility, and more. It surveys the availability and usage of these programs, as well as the accountability of the many managers who oversee them. The names of applicants that do not make the list are kept confidential. Company profiles and data come from submitted applications and reflect 2022 data.
